Evelyn painting the blue dragon wing on Two Kings

Two Kings — a rust suede cap for the dragon-inclined

Evelyn

Two dragons. One rust-orange sky. This is Two Kings.

Some pieces come out of the studio quiet. This one didn't. A blue dragon rising and a green dragon breathing fire, meeting each other over a compass and the ruins of a castle wall. Not a fight — look again. They're circling. Two rulers who already know each other.

The design goes onto the suede first, burned in by laser. Slow passes so the line work reads clean. The suede takes heat differently than canvas or leather — it darkens where the beam draws and softens at the edges. That part is the machine and me working together. Then the machine is done and it's just me.

Painting the blue dragon wing on Two Kings — in-progress at the studio
Blue on the wing, one layer at a time.

Four hours with a small brush

Sapphire and cobalt on the blue dragon. Forest green with gold running through the scales on the other. Yellow center of the flame, red at the hottest edges. The compass and ruins on the brim finished last.

Two dragons, one story

One dragon on a hat is a statement. Two is a story. For someone who never stopped loving fantasy — who wants a hat with a world drawn on it, not a logo.

One of a kind

There's only one Two Kings. When it's gone, it's gone.
