Iris & Fireweed is a one-of-one cream suede cap — hand-burned, hand-painted, and finished with a handmade pearl-and-plum beaded band. Made for someone who loves nature and elegance.

What makes this piece one-of-one

Every cap I make begins as a burn, not a paint stroke. Before any color goes on the suede, the design is drawn into the fabric with a fine wood-burning tip. The burn stays under the paint as texture you can feel with your fingers. Most hand-painted caps skip this step — it's what gives Iris & Fireweed its foundation and keeps the design from feeling flat.

Everything after that is acrylic paint, built in layers by hand. Two irises anchor the front. Fireweed spikes rise between them. Leaves and stems continue around to the back so the design reads from every angle.

The beaded band

The strap isn't off the shelf. It's a hand-strung band of freshwater-style pearls with plum accent beads that echo the iris petals. I made it specifically for this cap.

Why irises and fireweed

The composition, honestly. Two heavy florals grounded by tall vertical spikes, with small pink accents to keep it from getting heavy. I don't set out to invent meaning — I set out to make something beautiful. The story belongs to whoever wears it.
